What to Expect
What Kind of Treatment Techniques Might I Receive?
Your physical therapist will develop a personalized rehabilitation program for your condition. This program can help you safely return to your desired activities. Some treatment techniques may include:
Hands-on treatments to mobilize your muscles and joints to restore and improve proper motion and strength.
Specialized manual therapy offerings at Bryant Physical Therapy include:
- Joint mobilization and manipulation
- Soft-tissue mobilization
- Myofascial Release
Activities aimed at improving movement of a specific joint including stretching techniques to decrease muscle tightness and help restore flexibility. There are 3 main types of range of motion (ROM) exercise: Active ROM requires very little assistance from the clinician and is done by the patient. Active-assisted ROM requires partial assistance from the clinician and is done with the patient. Passive ROM requires full assistance from the clinician and is done for the patient.
Exercises for muscle weakness or imbalance specific to your condition and capability. Sometimes referred to as strength/weight/resistance/endurance training, muscle strengthening exercises can include the use of weights, exercise bands, and body weight. The benefits of muscle strengthening include increased bone strength and muscular fitness.

What Our Clients Say
I want to say Thank you to the therapist and those that assist In sessions they all were very friendly and supportive and gave you encouragement to accomplish your goal. Early in October I began Physical Therapy after Reverse Shoulder Replacement Surgery in Atlanta by noted surgeon Robert Titelman, who referred me to Bryant Physical Therapy of Ellijay, and I’m most grateful he suggested the Bryant people. I was assigned to a therapist (Brett) and an assistant (Melinda) who have stayed with me for two sessions weekly for the past 12 weeks.
Both my surgeon and I have been extremely satisfied with the results. My range of motion and my strength have increased dramatically as measured by regular evaluations and I look forward to returning soon to complete regular activities. They have been thoroughly professional, yet personal, challenging yet kind.
The support staff has tailored my sessions to my schedule and the facilities are extremely clean and state of the art. I would recommend Bryant Physical Therapy to anyone who needs Physical Therapy. I am 82 years old.
